I am sorry if this thread is out of line, but I am new here and I couldn't seem to find anythin against asking this question:

Is there any chance of finding breeders or dealers in Russia without knowing Russian?
I'm very interested in finding a Budjonny, but I don't know where to start.

Re: Breeders, without knowing Russian?
I am pretty sure it should be possible - there is a number of bi-lingual breeders/dealers. I just did a quick Google search and come up with these:

http://www.russian-horses.ru/en/services.html
http://www.horses.ru/service.htm

I am sure others on this list can reccommend other dealers. What kind of horse are you looking for - jumper/dressage/eventer?

Re: Breeders, without knowing Russian?
Thank you for the fast reply.
I will have a look at the links straight away.

It's the breed Budjonny (is Budenny the same as Budjonny?) I'm looking for. For competition, both dressage, jumping and eventing. Perhaps buying in a couple of horses and seeing how they evolve with training and competition.

Re: Breeders, without knowing Russian?
Yes, it's the same breed, I don't think there is one standard of writing the breed name in English. If you are looking for a young horse, perhaps stud farms are your best bets, I think if you got in contact with a dealer, they may be able to take you to the stud farms to take a look at the young prospects.

Good luck in your search.
